Where heritage meets innovation, and every product tells a story of African excellence

Strathmore University Delegates Gain First-Hand Insights into Supply Chain Management

Fifteen delegates from Strathmore University’s Managing Global Supply Chains in Africa Programme recently visited HACO Industries for an immersive learning experience, gaining practical insights into how strategic supply-chain decisions and manufacturing capabilities come together to serve markets across Africa.

The visit provided an opportunity for the delegates to connect their academic learning with real-world industry experience and explore the complexities of managing global supply chains within the African context.

The engagement offered a closer look at HACO’s integrated manufacturing value chain, from sourcing and procurement to production, quality, warehousing, inventory management and distribution, and how these functions work together to build efficient and resilient operations.

The delegates also gained insights into HACO’s growth journey and evolution as an African manufacturer, shared by our Marketing and Customer Service Director, Catherine Obwino.

They further engaged with our Head of Procurement, Amina Ali, exploring the strategic considerations, opportunities and challenges involved in managing supply chains across Africa.

The session also highlighted the role of strategic partnerships, supplier management, technology, quality standards and operational efficiency in strengthening supply-chain resilience and supporting sustainable business growth.

Beyond the operational insights, the visit gave the delegates an opportunity to engage directly with industry practitioners, exchange perspectives and gain a deeper understanding of the skills and capabilities required to navigate today’s manufacturing and supply-chain environment.

At HACO, we remain committed to sharing knowledge, connecting learning with practical industry experience and strengthening the capabilities needed to build more resilient and competitive African enterprises.
