Where heritage meets innovation, and every product tells a story of African excellence

Strengthening Professional Haircare in Kampala, Uganda

HACO Industries, through MIADI, continues to contribute to the development of Uganda’s beauty sector by creating opportunities for skills development, business learning and industry interaction.

In Kampala, the programme brought together two complementary initiatives: a Haircare Exhibition in partnership with ICE Ken School of Beauty and a Hair Clinic in partnership with Root Salon. Together, they provided spaces for knowledge sharing, practical training and connection with industry professionals.

The Hair Clinic equipped 150 students with hands-on hairdressing skills that can support employment while laying a foundation for future entrepreneurship. The training focused on capabilities that participants can apply within the haircare industry and, for those looking to establish their own businesses, offered a starting point for building sustainable enterprises.

The programme also engaged salon owners through the MIADI profit story, with a focus on product knowledge and the commercial opportunity around the brand. This enabled salon owners to explore how effective product positioning and brand engagement can contribute to stronger and more profitable businesses.

HACO is also undertaking ATL and BTL promotional activities to stimulate demand for its products. These efforts contribute to the wider network of individuals and businesses earning a livelihood through the trade of HACO brands, helping expand commercial opportunities across the haircare value chain.

Together, the training, salon engagement and demand-creation activities strengthen connections between beauty professionals, businesses, brands and consumers.

The partnerships with ICE Ken School of Beauty and Root Salon further demonstrate the value of collaboration in providing relevant opportunities for learning, skills development and industry interaction.

For HACO Industries, the programme forms part of its continued focus on entrepreneurship, skills development and sustainable livelihoods. It also reinforces the importance of working alongside industry and training partners to strengthen the people and enterprises contributing to Africa’s growing beauty sector.

Through MIADI, HACO continues to connect with beauty professionals through skills development, product knowledge and business-focused initiatives.
